Airis Kayaks FAQs

Why should I buy an Airis Kayak?

Airis™ Inflatable Kayaks are:

  • Ultra Portable - the lightest, most compact high pressure inflatable kayak in the world (Patent Pending) - easy to transport, easy to stow
  • Incredibly Rigid - without the use of bulky, complicated frames or inserts
  • Super Stable - easy to get in and out with no fear of tipping or rolling
  • Quick & Easy to Set-up & Use - just pump & Go!

How well do the kayaks track?

Every Airis™ Inflatable Kayak comes equipped with a bow keel and rear skeg with maximized surface area; together they provide excellent tracking.

How stable are Airis™ Kayaks?

Lateral stability is a key benefit of Airis™ Kayaks. All kayaks feature a flat bottom hull design, and as a result, the kayak will not roll or flip the way a traditional kayak might, making it extremely easy to get in and out.

So feel confident fishing when you are pulling in the big one... or hop out and go for a swim then hop back in and paddle some more.

How many air chambers do the kayaks have?

Each kayak has two Air Chambers: one in the hull + one in the floor

What happens if I put a hole in it while I am out paddling?

Airis™ Inflatable Kayaks are made of a durable PVC fabric that is scratch and abrasion resistant, however, if a puncture should occur, you can use a product called Tear-Aid® www.tear-aid.com for a temporary fix. It will not inflate to full pressure with this but you will be able to get home. Once home you can use the patch kit that comes with the Kayak for a more permanent repair solution.

Why don't the kayaks come with paddles?

We chose to sell the paddle separately as many kayakers already own one. In addition to this, there are many styles of kayak paddles and everyone has their own preference.

What accessories are available?

The following accessories will be available by summer 2008:

  • Spray Skirt
  • Fishing Rod Holder
  • Paddles
  • Thigh Strap
  • Foot Rest
  • Electric Pump

Am I going to get wet?

Airis™ Kayaks feature a flat bottom hull design and are inherently stable; as a result, the kayak will not roll or flip the way a traditional kayak will. In addition to this, all Airis™ Kayaks come with an integrated splashguard and drain valves to keep water out of the cockpit. However, when paddling, there is always the chance one may get wet, and this is almost certain if you are in whitewater; accessories such as a spray skirt can greatly diminish this.
